US Zoos

Team

To create inspiring clothing with a commitment to a sustainable future.

We are a company of dreamers — of thinkers, movers, shakers, and believers.

We understand that we’re not just making t-shirts, we’re helping people make memories of Africa – memories from your store. We do things that inspire us, that excite us, and that drive us to push the boundaries of t-shirts in Africa … and beyond

Ordinary people doing extra-ordinary things. Meet The TEAM

Richard Robison

Co-founder of Kool Africa, consultant to a few others and a Self-Appointed Braai Master

Being a co-founder of the largest gifting wholesaler in southern Africa, Richard has used his failures and successes over the years to set out to change the clothing landscape.

With a fervent desire to impress his Chartered Accountant family, Richard has taken Kool Africa to become one of Africa’s most sought after and best-selling clothing companies.

You’ll find Richard on the mountain, probably mountain biking, maybe running, definitely throwing caution to the wind, and most certainly having a cold IPA in hand after.

His wife, Lynda, has nominated him 3 times for the worst Afrikaans langarm dancer ever.

Lynda Robison

Co-founder of Kool Africa, director of another and was vegan for a month

1 Part Business Women
2 Part Mom
3 Part CrossFit Machine *she does +5min planks*
Too many parts?

Visiting clients across our borders, directing the Kool Africa Sales Machine, and trying to make a positive difference, are all Lynda’s Kryptonite.
With a laser-like focus, a diary not to be messed with and a passion for people (and WhatsApp), Lynda knows her purpose and is there to help … 24/7

“I have 600+ contacts on my phone, most of them are business-related. Juggling being a business woman and dealing with mommy guilt has its challenges. But one day I WILL be on the cover of a business magazine which will inspire my girls to become influential leaders with no limitations.”

Some useless info – Lynda gets freaked out by birds … shhh, it’s a secret.

Omengo Dimandja

Sales Ninja, Director of Grabbing Opportunities and Chief Biscuit Dunker

Omengo is a unique, incredible person. With his gigantic smile, he sends out rays of positivity and good vibes wherever he goes.

Often spending two weeks on the road, engaging with current and new clients, he uses his disadvantaged background to drive his success. This country needs MORE Omengo’s.

He flows with so much style that it’s hard to believe that just 10 years ago he was working security. Hey, his spelling and grammar won’t win him The Pulitzer Prize but who are we to be judgemental?

He’s used his opportunity, ambition and goal setting to inspire the youth in his community.

There’s rumour that he was named after a fruit, all we know is that Mr Beckham has nothing on our own Mr Style.

Alex Harris

Business Development Consultant and Retail Jedi

To take Kool Africa to the next level we needed to bring in The Big Guns.

Absorbed by his no-nonsense speech as a guest speaker at a trade expo, we knew we had found our guy.

Being ex-head of business at The Foschini Group (TFG) and Soda Bloc he knows the tricks of the trade … and most importantly he can identify what consumers are searching for.

Armed with 30 years of corporate retail experience he focuses on separating the wheat from the chaff… that’s our fancy way of saying the good from the bad.

Being born in Zimbabwe he has many scoops, like Air Zimbabwe does not have seat belts on all the seats, passengers are forced to use the belt from their pants as a seat belt.
Hey, we didn’t want to fact check this … it’s too priceless.

To create inspiring clothing with a commitment to a sustainable future.
